Wedding Greenery is the Latest Trend in Wedding Decor

April 5, 2016

It wasn’t too long ago when brides refrained from both excessive greenery and any amount of baby’s breath in their floral arrangements. Generally speaking, when it comes to floral arrangements, flowers get all the “Oohs and Ahhs,” but here’s a recent trend that is sure to give colorful blooms a run for their money: arrangements with greenery. Over-the-top blooms are no longer the only option for wedding décor.  Greenery is everywhere, and you’ll find large bouquets of nothing but baby’s breath. Florists are using everything from magnolia leaves to ivy—even herbs (think basil, parsley, rosemary, mint) in creative ways. Succulents are also huge on this list and can be incorporated in many fun and creative ways.

Using greenery, like ferns, eucalyptus, olive branches, ivies, boxwood shrubs and lily grass, not only give brides a budget-friendly alternative to flowers, but also creates a refreshing and clean look for the wedding day. This is especially beautiful during the Winter and Spring months. Not only is this green wedding theme affordable, it is very chic. Many florists will add clear glass pieces to the look which adds to the overall clean look.

Greenery is no longer bound to one kind of arrangement (i.e. garland). It has expanded to gorgeous bouquets, centerpieces, and even within the wedding day decor. With so many different hues, from forest green to sage, this beautiful color is at your fingertips.
