Wedding Greenery is the Latest Trend in Wedding Decor

Decor, Flowers, Theme Wedding Ideas, Wedding Trends Comments Off on Wedding Greenery is the Latest Trend in Wedding Decor

It wasn’t too long ago when brides refrained from both excessive greenery and any amount of baby’s breath in their floral arrangements. Generally speaking, when it comes to floral arrangements, flowers get all the “Oohs and Ahhs,” but here’s a recent trend that is sure to give colorful blooms a run for their money: arrangements with greenery. Over-the-top blooms are no longer the only option for wedding décor.  Greenery is everywhere, and you’ll find large bouquets of nothing but baby’s breath. Florists are using everything from magnolia leaves to ivy—even herbs (think basil, parsley, rosemary, mint) in creative ways. Succulents are also huge on this list and can be incorporated in many fun and creative ways.

Using greenery, like ferns, eucalyptus, olive branches, ivies, boxwood shrubs and lily grass, not only give brides a budget-friendly alternative to flowers, but also creates a refreshing and clean look for the wedding day. This is especially beautiful during the Winter and Spring months. Not only is this green wedding theme affordable, it is very chic. Many florists will add clear glass pieces to the look which adds to the overall clean look.

Greenery is no longer bound to one kind of arrangement (i.e. garland). It has expanded to gorgeous bouquets, centerpieces, and even within the wedding day decor. With so many different hues, from forest green to sage, this beautiful color is at your fingertips.

Check out these greenery creations we found to be just gorgeous!

Creating a Disney Themed Wedding

Theme Wedding Ideas, Uncategorized Comments Off on Creating a Disney Themed Wedding

If you and your fiancé are Disney fans then a Disney wedding might be the perfect theme for you! Pulling off a Disney wedding is easy, there are many movies you can pick from and each movie has special elements that you draw from to create your wedding invitations, table décor, colors, a special guest experience, pick your wedding dress and design a cake.

However, if you just love Disney and everything about it, you can incorporate multiple movies into your theme and have fun with creating your very own Magic Kingdom for your own wedding reception.

Here are some creative Disney elements that brides and grooms have incorporated into their day and their ideas might inspire you too!

Of course the most popular and recognizable Disney memorabilia is the Mickey Mouse ears.  We love this aisle decor – it sets the tone for the rest of the wedding!

If our groom is also into the Disney theme, then bow ties are a must.

We saw this cake and fell in love.  Especially if you are having a Cinderella theme….this is the cake you need!

Although the carriage ride might be an obvious element to the wedding, it is certainly important if you want to complete the Disney theme with an grand entrance or exit for your wedding!  Jacksonville has transportation vendors who have Cinderella carriages, so you are in luck!

Pick your favorite Disney movie and your wedding planner will be able to come up with multiple options for center pieces and table decor!

Disney is creative, and you can be too!  And it is a great excuse to watch your favorite Disney movies again and again to get theme ideas for your wedding!

If you are having flower girls or ring bearers you can get really creative with the outfits they can wear.

Custom gobos’s are really popular at weddings these days, especially with monograms and wedding dates.  Take the gobo to the next level and make a silhouette of your favorite Disney characters.

Custom guest book using the “Up” theme!

You can create your wedding look around the Disney theme too, hair do’s, crowns, accessories – you have lots of options!

As we have stated before, the wedding invitation sets the tone and theme of the wedding.  It tells your guest what to expect at your ceremony and wedding reception.

If you are planning on lawn games as part of your guest experience, this would be perfect for the “Alice and Wonderland” theme. And if you have a photo booth you can have Disney themed props!

For the true Disney fan, your engagement ring and wedding bands can reflect the Disney theme.  Disney also has a line of engagement rings that are themed especially for each Princess.

Table cards!  They can be silhouettes of your favorite characters!

Good luck creating your Disney themed wedding.  Just remember to be creative and have fun with it! There are no rules to planning weddings….so use your imagination just like Mickey would!

A St. Patrick’s Day Wedding

Theme Wedding Ideas Comments Off on A St. Patrick’s Day Wedding

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to everyone!

Every year brides and grooms from all over the world choose to get married on this international holiday for a number of reasons.  The top reason would probably be because they are Irish, they love their heritage, and they can guarantee a huge party every year on their anniversary!  Premier Bride of Northeast Florida wanted to showcase some of our favorite Irish/Celtic/St. Patrick’s day wedding inspirations that we could find.  We scoured the internet looking for elements you might want to include in your wedding…if you are choosing this theme.  Don’t forget, we never encourage duplication…take these as inspirations and make them your own with your own special twist!  If you don’t feel that  you are creative, don’t worry!  Just make sure you hire professional wedding professionals and they can make it happen….remember creativity and turning visions into reality is what they do for a living!

There is no shortage of professional wedding vendors in Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Amelia Island, Orange Park, the beaches and the surrounding areas…so don’t stress out!

Here is our take on some fun and creative elements for a St. Patty’s Day Wedding….

First and foremost…set the mood with some traditional Irish music!  Have a bagpiper play during the ceremony, it will really set the tone for the rest of the wedding!

Celtic wedding rings?  Yes please!  If you are serious about having a Celtic/Irish/St. Patty’s Day wedding…then you want to wear that heritage loud and proud on your finger!  Think about having the Celtic knot design in your wedding bands!

Irish blessing coins!  How fun would it be to give your guests a keep sake like this?  Even if you don’t have an Irish theme wedding…we love this idea anyway!

Jameson.  It is the official whiskey of the Irish…so this needs to be worked into the wedding somehow…someway!

If your grooms or groomsmen won’t wear kilts…then you can make the ring bearer sport one down the aisle.  We don’t think there is anything cuter then kids in kilts!

The cake is an easy way to represent St. Patty’s Day at your wedding….and there are hundreds of options.  Sometimes the theme does not have to be obvious.  Just playing with the colors of green, gold or a Celtic print pattern is perfect!

St. Patty’s day is all about the “Luck of the Irish” – so a horseshoe is a great way to tie in the theme!

No kilts?  Then think about green printed patterns for the groom and groomsmen!  Pick ties or bowties and don’t worry about them all matching…it makes the pictures a lot more interesting if  not everyone is matchy-matchy!

Get creative with your wedding invitations.  Paper holds limitless possibilities.  Of course going green is a good place to start!

Most brides are still going to opt for a white/ivory wedding dress…but having a sparkle of green is going to tie the whole wedding together! Get creative!

Little posts of 4 leave clovers might be obvious…but they are cute!  And a great take-home for your guests!

Happy St. Patty’s Day everyone and may the luck of the Irish be with you!

One of the most popular wedding themes is vintage.   Vintage typically refers to a particular harvest or crop of wine, but can also mean pertaining to a high quality past time.  In this case, we mean the latter of the two.  Vintage wedding themes are taking the wedding industry by storm and they will be trending for years to come.  Considering that many of our favorite TV shows and movies have a vintage flair to it, we will continue to see weddings emulate those themes.  Premier Bride of Northeast Florida loves “vintage!”  We live in the South and we do vintage well.  Many of our reception venues in Jacksonville and the surrounding areas also cater to a vintage theme.  Let’s explore “vintage” on the First Coast.

Fashion

One of the first things to check off your list is a wedding gown, and designers have caught onto the vintage bandwagon.  There are tiers of lace on gowns, along with sleeves, and sweet pearl details.  Along with strings of pearls adorning bride’s necks, birdcages are making a comeback, as well as bridal caps.  Detailed bodices and backs also give dresses a vintage feel.  Gloves and lace boots are also making their way back onto the wedding scene.  The bridal salons in Jacksonville have you covered if you are looking for a “vintage wedding grown”

Flowers

With a vintage theme you have two really great options; a brooch bouquet or traditional flowers. You can indulge in a gorgeous brooch bouquet, which can be solely made up of vintage brooches from your grandmother, or from an antique store.  Or you can have a florist create vintage inspired bouquets and centerpieces to tie your theme together.  Vintage flower arrangements include a lot of greens.  There are also 3 main flowers that fit the era; roses, freesia and lisianthus.

Decor and Special Touches

You can be taken away in a vintage car, like a Rolls Royce, or swept away by carriage.  You might find yourself in a barn type wedding, adorned with chandeliers and mason jars all over.  Mason jars are extremely popular right now, and can be adorned with lace, or have pictures in them showing family.  Don’t be afraid to find some hat boxes to capture the vintage era you are going for in your wedding.  There are a lot of talented decor companies , rental companies and wedding planners on in the Jacksonville area that can make your vision a reality!

If you’re planning a wedding, you already know the Internet is a great resource. There’s a new player in the online wedding game, and it’s quickly becoming one of the most popular – Pinterest.  Even Premier Bride of Northeast Florida has a Pinterest account….follow us here!

On Pinterest.com, you can grab photos from around the web and ‘pin’ them onto ‘boards,’ meaning you can post the photos online, under your user name, into categories of your choosing. You can also browse other Pinterest user boards.

Many Pinners that are dreaming of their big day post boards dedicated to weddings. The photos are often accompanied with comments, and can include tips or instructions on how to create the look that was captured in the picture. Like wedding forums, you can interact with friends or strangers to get suggestions and ideas for your special day, but this time, it’s all centered around pictures of your choosing.  Many of the local Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Orange Park and Amelia Island vendors have Pinterest accounts and boards that you can search and see their work.

Pinterest certainly displays boards for all the biggies like the gown, décor and food. But Pinterest’s real strength is in highlighting the details. It’s on this site that you’ll find inspiration behind your personalized napkins, the perfect photography poses or an idea for ‘something blue.’ Those seemingly insignificant details will make your day truly unique.  One thing to keep in mind when using  Pinterst is expectations.  Many of the top wedding professionals that plan celebrity weddings and events with unlimited budgets post to Pinterest.  When planning your own wedding, use it for inspirations….but make sure that your budget and the ideas you pin can be achieved.

Like many online wedding hotspots, Pinterest runs the risk of overwhelming. So, to get the most out of the site, make sure to be specific when you’re scoping out ideas.

In the search box in the top left hand corner of the page, use as many details as possible, such as ‘fall DIY wedding décor,’ or  ‘cream wedding pumps.’ If you’re not exactly sure what you’re looking for, it helps to at least separate your searches into different categories, such as ‘wedding décor’ or ‘bridesmaids,’ rather than just a generic ‘wedding’ search.  Another great tip is to limit the number of pins you share with your wedding vendors.  Choosing to share hundreds of pins with your wedding vendors becomes overwhelming for everyone.   Try to choose 3-4 pins per “category.”  Only pick 3 bouquets, 3 cakes you like, 3 to 4 different table scapes and so on.  Remember, you hired your wedding pros because they are professionals.  They are creative and they have probably done 100’s of weddings and they can make yours unique and special too!

It’s also a great place to see real photos from themed weddings, which can be more difficult to find on other websites. If you’re planning something outside the box, search for that specifically, such as ‘Halloween wedding’ or ‘Great Gatsby themed wedding.’

That being said, Pinterest is also a great way to explore outside your comfort zone. Whimsical, woodsy, DIY, rustic, vintage, elegant, chic, romantic and couture are all popular words on Pinterest’s wedding pins. Even if you think those adjectives wouldn’t apply to your big day, type them in and browse. You might be pleasantly surprised!

Finally, if you’re serious about using suggestions from Pinterest, do your homework. Each picture can be traced back to its original blog or website, so when you find something you like and think you could apply to your wedding, click through and take notes or bookmark the page. Otherwise, you’ll get lost on the site and look up from your computer three hours later without any clear idea on how to make your wedding nicer.  Make sure you search for local Pinterest boards…and follow the local wedding pros!

One Pinterest trick, you are able to have up to 3 secret boards.  Make your wedding board secret so your guest are surprised!

Now, get pinning!

Planning a Beach Wedding?
Living in Northeast Florida, we are blessed to live by the ocean. Our landscape includes miles of white sandy beaches, the perfect setting for a romantic beach wedding.
The beach theme should be carried throughout the wedding! Here are some ideas to to help you pull off the perfect beach wedding!

Beach Wedding Hair Style

Consider having a loose up-do for your beach wedding. The wind always blows at the beach so you don’t want to be brushing your hair away from your face during the ceremony. Having a loose style goes perfect with a beach theme!

Beach Wedding Dress

Pay attention to the fabrics and the length of dress that you choose. You want a fabric that will breath and be light on the beach. The length of your dress depends on if you want your dress to sweep the sand!

Beach Wedding Jewelry

Selecting jewelry that has pearls in it compliments the setting and the ocean. Other suggestions would be natural stones or shells.

Beach Wedding Shoes

Wearing high heels while walking in the sand is not realistic, you will stumble and fall down the isle! Choose to go barefoot or find beaded or lace barefoot sandals!

Beach Wedding Bouquet

Looking for something other then flowers for your beach wedding? Think about using seashells for a unique and different look that will get your guests talking!

Beach Wedding Decor

Use elements of the ocean in your decor! Star fish, sand dollars, sea shells, or drift wood all are great elements that will enhance your beach wedding theme!
