Four Steps To A Seasonal Wedding You’ll Fall in Love With

Beauty, Bridal Fashion, Bridesmaids, Decor Comments Off on Four Steps To A Seasonal Wedding You’ll Fall in Love With

Wedding trends change with the seasons, and we adore the crisp, romantic scene that an autumn-themed celebration sets. This year, everything from leave-stolen colors, garden-inspired cakes, and wistful decor has us truly falling head over wedding shoes.

  1. The Colors

Leading the way in color themes are power pairs like navy and marsala, orange and beige, and plum and grey. What pairs like this accomplish is the perfect mix of mood and seasonality. Darker hues invoke the natural changes occurring outside, and the cooler pastels bring elegance and romance to the fall-inspired palette. Brighter shades like orange add just a touch of playfulness so characteristic of this pumpkin-picking season.

  1. The Fashion

One of the best, most effective and attractive ways to incorporate these colors on your wedding day is through the bridal party’s fashion choices.

For the bride, choose an off-white, more beige or ivory gown to create a deeper Victorian palette. Two-piece separates are also trending thanks to colder temperatures, with some brides opting for beautiful cashmere sweaters that match with full-length skirts.

For the bridesmaids, consider creating a tasteful, fall rainbow out of the deeper purples and reds, their dresses changing hues as subtly as the leaves on the trees. Let them choose the fall color that they love most out of a number of options from online rentals like Vow To Be Chic’s, which make it easy with seasonally-curated lines based on style and color.

Allow the groomsmen to have the same choices, and coordinate with accents like ties and pocket squares that mirror the colors of the bridesmaid dresses. The Black Tux is an option worth looking into with their wedding line of rental tuxedos and suits that come in trendy colors.

  1. The Decor

When making decor decisions, think whimsical and rustic, and steal ideas from the ever-popular barn wedding trend. Signs should be personalized and complete with wispy calligraphy and garland borders.

Generally speaking, flowers and greenery that invoke the fall color trends are your friend. Wild rather than perfectly-arranged bouquets are King, and dahlias are the petal princess. Popular choices for tabletops include succulents, eucalyptus, and bay leaf branches. In lieu of blooms, we’ve also seen berries like raspberries and hypericum used for color.

Tall candles and leaf-covered branches are also on trend thanks to the one-two fall romance punch they pack.

Essentially, let your decor capture the spirit of the autumnal outdoors.

  1. The Food & Dessert

Fall wedding cakes are taking cues from the season’s humility with smaller cakes made with more subtle tiers sans grand toppers. Texture trumps fondant designs and sugar flowers, and greenery accents are delicately placed around the tiers as if they grew there. We also adore the translucent cake trend, where there is a thin veil of frosting that allows some of the bare cake to peek through, like a coating of fall morning dew. Dressed up with visible drizzles of caramel and you have the perfect fall indulgence that functions as a statement piece of decor.

If you’re worried that a smaller cake won’t cut it for all your guests, supplement with a seasonal favorite — pies! Make them mini for added charm and serving ease.

One of the best ways to personalize your reception and create a truly unique experience for your guests is through the food, and this season couples are leveraging what’s local and seasonal, no matter the type of station they have set up. We love the idea of a farmhouse-style gathering to add even more rustic appeal.

What fall wedding trends have you seen and loved this year? Let us know!

Wedding Greenery is the Latest Trend in Wedding Decor

Decor, Flowers, Theme Wedding Ideas, Wedding Trends Comments Off on Wedding Greenery is the Latest Trend in Wedding Decor

It wasn’t too long ago when brides refrained from both excessive greenery and any amount of baby’s breath in their floral arrangements. Generally speaking, when it comes to floral arrangements, flowers get all the “Oohs and Ahhs,” but here’s a recent trend that is sure to give colorful blooms a run for their money: arrangements with greenery. Over-the-top blooms are no longer the only option for wedding décor.  Greenery is everywhere, and you’ll find large bouquets of nothing but baby’s breath. Florists are using everything from magnolia leaves to ivy—even herbs (think basil, parsley, rosemary, mint) in creative ways. Succulents are also huge on this list and can be incorporated in many fun and creative ways.

Using greenery, like ferns, eucalyptus, olive branches, ivies, boxwood shrubs and lily grass, not only give brides a budget-friendly alternative to flowers, but also creates a refreshing and clean look for the wedding day. This is especially beautiful during the Winter and Spring months. Not only is this green wedding theme affordable, it is very chic. Many florists will add clear glass pieces to the look which adds to the overall clean look.

Greenery is no longer bound to one kind of arrangement (i.e. garland). It has expanded to gorgeous bouquets, centerpieces, and even within the wedding day decor. With so many different hues, from forest green to sage, this beautiful color is at your fingertips.

Check out these greenery creations we found to be just gorgeous!

One of the most popular wedding themes is vintage.   Vintage typically refers to a particular harvest or crop of wine, but can also mean pertaining to a high quality past time.  In this case, we mean the latter of the two.  Vintage wedding themes are taking the wedding industry by storm and they will be trending for years to come.  Considering that many of our favorite TV shows and movies have a vintage flair to it, we will continue to see weddings emulate those themes.  Premier Bride of Northeast Florida loves “vintage!”  We live in the South and we do vintage well.  Many of our reception venues in Jacksonville and the surrounding areas also cater to a vintage theme.  Let’s explore “vintage” on the First Coast.

One of the first things to check off your list is a wedding gown, and designers have caught onto the vintage bandwagon.  There are tiers of lace on gowns, along with sleeves, and sweet pearl details.  Along with strings of pearls adorning bride’s necks, birdcages are making a comeback, as well as bridal caps.  Detailed bodices and backs also give dresses a vintage feel.  Gloves and lace boots are also making their way back onto the wedding scene.  The bridal salons in Jacksonville have you covered if you are looking for a “vintage wedding grown”

With a vintage theme you have two really great options; a brooch bouquet or traditional flowers. You can indulge in a gorgeous brooch bouquet, which can be solely made up of vintage brooches from your grandmother, or from an antique store.  Or you can have a florist create vintage inspired bouquets and centerpieces to tie your theme together.  Vintage flower arrangements include a lot of greens.  There are also 3 main flowers that fit the era; roses, freesia and lisianthus.

Decor and Special Touches

You can be taken away in a vintage car, like a Rolls Royce, or swept away by carriage.  You might find yourself in a barn type wedding, adorned with chandeliers and mason jars all over.  Mason jars are extremely popular right now, and can be adorned with lace, or have pictures in them showing family.  Don’t be afraid to find some hat boxes to capture the vintage era you are going for in your wedding.  There are a lot of talented decor companies , rental companies and wedding planners on in the Jacksonville area that can make your vision a reality!

Wedding Table Scapes

Decor Comments Off on Wedding Table Scapes

Wedding themes are trending and we think that they are here to stay for a very long time.  No more does simple colors make the cut…now everyone asks what is the “theme” of your wedding.  Sometimes brides choose themes that have a clear direction, like “Beach Chic” and then other brides choose wedding themes that leave more to the imagination like “Grown Up Sexy.”

The best thing about a wedding theme is that your inspiration can come from anything; a plate, a piece of fabric, a movie, or your favorite book….they can come from anywhere.  Most couples select a theme together that reflects their relationship, something that they love doing together, or they might have a venue in mind where a theme just fits!  Rules have been thrown out the window when it comes to weddings these days…anything and everything seams to go.  The more creative the better!  It is your special day so don’t be afraid to set outside the box and plan a party that will wow your guests.

Brides can find many inspirations in many different places.  Pinterest is definitely a popular site for brides to use when planning their wedding.  We love Pinterest too…but we caution everyone on how to use Pinterest.  First, use it for inspirations….not for copying someones ideas.  All too often wedding professionals are given wedding boards on Pinterest and asked to copy what they have pinned.  Who wants someone else wedding?  Be orginal and tell your wedding pros what you like and what you don’t and let them get creative….remember, if you hire a professional wedding vendor…they are creative and love a great challenge! Make sure you check out our wedding decor vendors, click here!

Where you can get really creative in your wedding decor is the  table scape.  We wanted to share with you some examples we have used in our own styled wedding shoots.

Chandelier Wedding Cakes and Hanging Centerpieces

Cakes and Sweets, Decor Comments Off on Chandelier Wedding Cakes and Hanging Centerpieces

Some of this year’s hottest trends include hanging chandelier cakes and hanging centerpieces. We think they’re pretty gorgeous to look at but can’t imagine the time and effort that goes into them! Just look at all the detail and special touches each cake has and then think of adding an element of being suspended from a ceiling! Suspended wedding cakes are usually held up by a specialty swing-like suspension from the ceiling. Here are some photos of realistic hanging wedding cakes that are not only gravity-defying but also sure to impress all your guests! We think they’re beautiful, what do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments.

We’ve even seen hanging cupcakes, which we thought were pretty darn cute if done the right way!

Another breathtaking trend that is extremely popular is hanging centerpieces above the wedding reception tables. They can be hugely ornate or simply chic, it’s up to the bride. We love this trend and think it’s going to be one that will stay! Here are a few photos to show off some of these beautiful centerpieces. Tell us what you think about these two gravity-defying trends!

Wedding Colors – Blush

Decor Comments Off on Wedding Colors – Blush

The wedding color “Blush” is a very popular and great choice for your wedding colors.  Especially if you are planning a wedding in the Greater Jacksonville area – the color blush is a great compliment to the ocean and all the green trees that surround the First Coast.

If you select “blush” as your wedding color, the secondary color could be a variety of choices; gold, mustard, mint, purple, green, grey, white, ivory, yellow, darker shades of pink and many others.

Here are images of blush weddings that we love!

Picking Your Wedding Colors

Bridesmaids, Decor Comments Off on Picking Your Wedding Colors

One aspect of the wedding that a bride is typically debating is which wedding colors to choose.  Here are 5 important tips when picking your wedding pallet!

1.  Choose a color that will compliment your wedding venue! Think about colors of walls, curtains, flooring and the natural surroundings (trees, water, rocks, etc)  because your pictures can be indoors and outdoors.  Don’t worry about matching to colors of the carpet with the bridesmaid dress – just pick something that won’t terribly clash.    If the wedding venue has strong colors, take that into consideration when selecting your colors.   If the wedding venue colors are the opposite of what you want, consider using pipe and drape and lighting to mask the unwanted colors.

2.  Think about contract.  Pick a color for the dresses and pick a contrasting color for your flowers.  You want your pictures to pop and selecting contrasting colors will do that.

3.  Order mock florals.  What you think you are picking out and what the actual color is sometimes can be two different shades.  All too ofter we hear disappointing stories  about bridal flowers not being what they expected them to be.  Ask your florist to order a stem or two for each of your flowers and bring a swatch of your bridesmaids dresses to make sure they match and look the way you want them too.

4.  Think about your bridesmaids skin tones and hair colors.  If you have a large bridal party, you might not be able to pick the perfect color for each bridesmaid but you can try!  Think about choosing different shades of your color so each bridesmaid has a shade that works for them.  Remember, your pictures will be much better if your bridesmaids look good in the color you choose!

5.  Make your color a priority as one of the first things you do in the planning process.   By waiting too long to select a color, you don’t have time to think about your decisions and tie the colors into the other elements of your wedding.
